  • In phase ll. You will receive a 3D rendering. Through meticulous layout/floor plan creation, we optimize spaces for both fluidity and purpose. Each square foot is thoughtfully considered, guaranteeing that the final design achieves a balance of spaciousness and purpose, echoing the aspirations of our clients.

    This rendering will be given to you to approve then sent to the tradesmen team to ensure the construction process is seamless.

  • This consultations can be conducted either at your home or virtually, providing you with guidance and direction to kickstart your design plans.

    During these consultations, which typically last up to two hours, we can advise on various topics such as:

How long does a full service design project typically take?

At Mint + Mod Design Studio, we steer clear of cookie-cutter or templated design approaches. Each design project we undertake is as unique as our clients themselves. Through our comprehensive onboarding process, we gather detailed information and define the scope of work for the project, along with creating a timeline schedule to keep our clients informed about the expected milestones.

Based on our extensive experience, whole-home renovation projects and new builds generally span from 9 to 18 months, while smaller renovation projects typically range from 2 to 5 months.

Can you explain design fees?

At Mint + Mod Design Studio, our business model revolves around managing both our design fee and the purchasing and installation for our clients.

We kick off each design project with a transparent discussion about budget, aiming to establish a realistic investment aligned with the desired scope of work. Following our initial consultation and mutual agreement to proceed, clients receive a comprehensive Design Fee Proposal. This proposal delineates the design tasks to be undertaken and provides an estimated fee covering the entire process, from conceptualization through procurement to final styling, including details like placing the last pillow or decorative object.

When should I hire an interior designer?

Starting the design process early is highly beneficial. It's never too soon to engage with an interior designer. Early collaboration allows us to assist you in avoiding potential mistakes when planning your design project, especially concerning finish selections, window types, lighting, and other crucial elements.

For instance, we meticulously plan the precise locations of electrical outlets and sockets based on your furniture layout, which in turn is tailored to the shape, size, and functionality of your space as well as your lifestyle and preferences. Throughout the installation phase, we take charge, overseeing every aspect of the process.

Our commitment to consistent communication with both you and the installer ensures that our design plans are executed flawlessly, resulting in a space that not only looks beautiful but also functions seamlessly according to your needs and vision.

Do you offer e-design services?

We do! Your project will be tailored to like any other project. You would need to take measurements of your space, provide photos and project details, purchase material, and handle the installation independently. While you opt to hire third-party services for tasks like hanging curtains or assembling furniture, it's important to note that we wont directly oversee these aspects. Instead, we will provide a shopping list and guidance for bringing the design to life, leaving the implementation to you.

E-design is an excellent option for individuals seeking a designer's expertise and guidance in creating a well-designed room, yet feel capable of managing other aspects yourself.

Other firms mark up merchandise, do you?

Like many other firms in the industry, we may apply a mark-up on merchandise we purchase for you. However, this is typically done only when we can secure a better price for you than if you were to purchase the item directly from the vendor. For example, if you find an ottoman you adore and the vendor quotes $1,000 (or doesn't disclose the price to non-trade members), working through us may allow us to negotiate a lower price and pass on some of the savings to you. We always aim to offer discounts off retail whenever possible.

It's important to note that discounts from vendors vary widely in the design industry, so we cannot provide a standard discount rate. Rest assured, our goal is to maximize value for you while ensuring the highest quality and service.

What if I don’t like the design?

Let us know! As your dedicated partner in this process, we provide three revisions to our designs. Additional revisions can incur a change order fee. But we’ve never had to revise our designs more than once. During Phase I, we listen to every detail, and ask specific questions to understand your wants and needs. This ensures that we fine-tune every detail to perfectly align with your vision and preferences.

Once you have reviewed and approved the final design and signed our design approval contract, we will proceed with ordering the necessary products and materials to bring your vision to life. Your satisfaction and confidence in our work are paramount, and we are here to guide you every step of the way.
